Remarkably, from a young age Doug has shown a love of fiscal prudence. When he was a teenager it was just weird…now it is an attribute.
Doug funded his University of Baltimore Business Administration degree via a lacrosse scholarship. He started his business career at Procter and Gamble, then made a quick stop with J. Walter Thompson as an advertising executive. At the Pepsi Bottling Group Canada, Doug was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, but always had an eye on the world of financial planning.
Doug became a Certified Financial Planner and is adept in composing comprehensive financial plans for his clients. He is skilled at reviewing and revising portfolios, providing a level of insight and expertise that allows his clients to achieve their long term lifestyle goals. He has founded Provident Partners to be a client focused firm, understanding his firm is non-existent without his clients achieving their goals. He is single-mindedly focused on client success. The value he brings is in his coaching, advice and solutions that are tailored to meet the specific individual and family needs.
Doug is a life-long learner. He exceeds the industry requirements for continuing education and is constantly seeking professional designations. He is experienced in cash flow planning, which allows him to help clients build more effective cash flow plans for their families.
Making a difference as a global citizen, and appealing to his philanthropist nature, Doug is a former Director for the Global Friends Foundation supporting vulnerable children in Tanzania and Uganda. He has summited Mt. Kilimanjaro three times in support of these young people. Doug is a member of the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the Manitoba Lacrosse Hall of fame.
In his downtime, you can find Doug the skiing the hills of Big White with his grandkids during the winter, and enjoying the lake or hiking in the local mountains during the summer. He and his wife Vicki love spending time with their 5 kids and ever growing crew of grandchildren.
